Welcome Message
It is a pleasure to welcome all participants, speakers, researchers and professionals to the 2nd Global Summit on Ageing & Longevity, to be held in Osaka, Japan, on 3–4 December 2026.
Ageing and longevity are among the most important scientific and societal challenges of our time. Addressing these challenges requires an increasingly interdisciplinary approach, bringing together biomedical and life sciences, healthcare, technology, engineering and social sciences to promote not only longer lives, but also healthier, more active and more autonomous ageing.
In this framework, the rapid development of information technologies, artificial intelligence, digital health, intelligent sensing systems and data-driven approaches is opening important new opportunities. These technologies can support the early detection and monitoring of age-related changes, enable more personalized approaches to prevention and healthcare, facilitate continuous and non-invasive assessment of health and functional status, and contribute to maintaining independence and quality of life in older adults.
Artificial intelligence, in particular, has the potential to transform the way we understand and address ageing by enabling the analysis and integration of complex and heterogeneous data, supporting personalized interventions and assisting healthcare professionals and individuals in making more informed decisions. At the same time, the development and adoption of these technologies should remain firmly grounded in ethical principles, scientific evidence, usability, accessibility, privacy and a human-centred perspective.
As Session Chair, I am particularly pleased to contribute to an event that provides an opportunity to exchange ideas, share scientific findings and foster dialogue and collaboration among experts from different disciplines and countries. I believe that meaningful progress in the field of ageing and longevity will increasingly depend on the ability to connect scientific knowledge with innovative technologies and to translate these advances into solutions that can have a tangible impact on people's lives.
I warmly encourage all participants to actively engage in the scientific discussions, share their perspectives and experiences and take advantage of this opportunity to establish new collaborations and strengthen the international scientific community working towards active, healthy and dignified ageing.
