Biography

Professor Agnes Sui-Yin Chan is Chairperson and Professor in the Department of Psychology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Director of the Research Center for Neuropsychological Well-Being. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (Neuropsychology) from the University of California, San Diego, following undergraduate and master’s training at the University of Michigan. Since joining CUHK in 1996, she has provided sustained leadership in research, teaching, and professional service.

An internationally recognized clinical neuropsychologist, Professor Chan’s research focuses on the early detection of cognitive decline, culturally grounded neuropsychological assessment, and evidence‑based interventions to enhance cognitive function. She developed the Hong Kong List Learning Test (HKLLT), widely used among Chinese populations, and pioneered integrative and technology‑based interventions, including the Chanwuyi Lifestyle Medicine Program, eye‑tracking cognitive training, and transcranial photobiomodulation.

Professor Chan has published 145+ peer‑reviewed journal articles, with over 9,500 citations (h‑index ≈52), and holds five patents related to cognitive assessment and intervention technologies.
