Professor Christakis Damianou received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona (1988, 1990, 1993). He has held positions at the Universities of Arizona, Indiana, Harvard and Frederick University, and joined the Cyprus University of Technology in 2012, where he is a full professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering.
His research and teaching focus on biomedical engineering and medical imaging, notably MRIâguided therapeutic ultrasound (MRgFUS) and MRâcompatible robotics. He has participated in 47 research projects (scientific coordinator for 29), authored 216 publications (90 peerâreviewed) and 3 book chapters, and has supervised 10 completed Ph.D. students with 3 currently in progress.
