Biography

Dr. Damla Geçkalan is an accomplished pediatrician and academician currently serving at Bakırçay University Çiğli Regional Education Hospital, Department of Pediatrics, Ä°zmir, Turkey. She has dedicated her career to improving pediatric healthcare, advancing medical education, and promoting ethical medical practices.

Dr. Geçkalan graduated from Çukurova University, Faculty of Medicine, in 2011, and also studied at Wroclaw University, Faculty of Medicine (Poland) through an international exchange program in 2010. Additionally, she completed a degree in Health Institutions Management from Anadolu University, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, in 2009, broadening her understanding of healthcare systems and administration.

She specialized in Pediatrics at Mersin University Faculty of Medicine (2012–2013) and Başkent University Faculty of Medicine (2013–2016), where she developed a strong clinical foundation in child health and internal medicine sciences.

Dr. Geçkalan has held several important roles, including Pediatrician at Şanlıurfa Birecik Hospital, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Kütahya Health Sciences University, and Faculty Board Member, Internship Assistant Coordinator, and Clinical Ethics Committee Member at the same institution. She also participated in a faculty exchange program at Szeged Faculty of Medicine, Budapest, gaining valuable international academic experience.

Currently, Dr. Geçkalan continues her professional journey at Bakırçay University, where she integrates clinical expertise, research, and education, contributing meaningfully to the field of pediatrics and the training of future healthcare professionals.
