D., is a Professor of Laboratory Medicine at the University of Toronto, a Senior Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute, and as the scientific director of the Molecular Diagnostics laboratory, Dr. Seth offers invaluable molecular diagnostic tests to support various departments of the hospital. A proven developer of new methods for understanding and evaluating the genetics of cancer, Sunnybrook Research Institute Genomics Centre created and directed by him provides expert services and consultation regarding molecular profiling of tumors and mechanisms of cancer development to members of clinical departments at Sunnybrook and other major hospitals as they embrace genomic approaches to precision/personalized medicine for cancer. He has published over 500 primary research papers, reviews, abstracts and book chapters in the areas of cancer biology, biomarker development and clinical application of genomics.

Dr. Seth's extensive research focuses on unraveling the intricate molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development and metastasis. One of his notable ongoing projects involves exploring microRNA signatures as predictive tumor biomarkers for prostate cancer recurrence and metastasis. Additionally, he is engaged in characterizing markers indicating responses to therapy in endometrial cancer and investigating pre-operative MRI signals and mutations in colorectal cancer liver metastases.

Dr. Seth provides collaborative and consultative support for pathologists, oncologists, and surgeons. He also maintains national and international research programs with fellow scientists to advance the field of personalized molecular medicine.
