Harri Auvinen is working as Research and Technology Manager at Savonia University of Applied Sciences, Bio and Circular Economy. He is also Cluster Manager of regional Bio and Circular Cluster (www.biocc.fi). His background is in Industrial Mathematics and Physics, and his expertise and interests include waste management development, utilizing industrial side streams, sustainable development networks and business partnerships. He has extensive experience in international EU funded projects VALUEWASTE, RURITAGE and HOOP.
During his career he has worked as a Senior Technology Manager at Rocsole Ltd. His experience includes product development, project management and key customer management. During his scientific career he has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Helsinki, Lappeenranta University of Technology and European Centre of Medium Range-Weather Forecast (ECMWF), Reading, UK. He has 14 years of scientific experience and more than 30 peer reviewed publications.
He has been a member of the city board of Kuopio between 2012 - 2021 and member of the city council of Kuopio since 2009. Currently he is II vice chair of the Kuopio city council.
