Professor Tingzhong Yang is Director of the Research Center for Tobacco Control at Zhejiang University School of Medicine. He has served as an advisor to the World Health Organization on tobacco control and contributed to the WHO Global Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases. He is an external faculty member of the Injury Control Research Center at West Virginia University and was invited to serve as an academician of the Russian Academy of Social and Fundamental Sciences.
His research focuses on social and behavioral health sciences, with particular emphasis on tobacco control, health behavior theory, and mental stress. He has published more than 140 international papers and authored or edited several academic books, including Health Research: Social and Behavioral Theory and Methods. He also is an editor of the Global Journal of Social Sciences Studies.
