David Ojo holds a PhD in Agronomy (2001), an MSc in Crop Science (1991), and a BSc in Agriculture (1988). He currently heads the Horticulture Institute (NIHORT) Research, Hortibusiness and Consultancy Services. With over 18 years of experience in sustainable horticulture, agribusiness, and agricultural extension, and more than 8 years consulting for major international farm operations (including HORTIVAR–FAO Italy, Marlboros Australia, and commercial farms in South Africa and Kenya), he has led numerous horticultural production programs and commercial farm projects.
He has extensive expertise in farm management, agronomic planning, open-field best practices, irrigation, fertility, pest control, and smallholder out-grower scheme development aligned with Nigeria’s Agricultural Transformation Agenda. Dr. Ojo also serves on editorial boards of several international journals, has published widely, and has received multiple awards.
