Biography
Dr. Rama Bhat P. is Professor and Head of the Department of PG Studies and Research in Biotechnology and Dean–Innovation at Alva’s College (Autonomous), Moodbidri, Karnataka, India. With over 32 years of teaching and research experience, he has made significant contributions to biotechnology, biodiversity conservation, and phytopharmaceutical research.
Dr. Bhat has published more than 100 research papers in reputed national and international journals, supervised several Ph.D. scholars, and successfully completed research projects funded by organizations including the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), BARC, and VGST. He has actively contributed to scientific advancement through academic leadership, conference organization, editorial activities, and international collaborations. His achievements include the Outstanding Scientist Award 2021 and SPSR Excellence Award 2025 for Pharmaceutical Research.

Biotechnology, Herbal Formulations, Immunomodulatory Studies, Biodiversity Conservation, Plant Tissue Culture, Plant–Microbial Interactions, Phytochemistry, Medicinal Plants, and Natural Product Research.
