Biography

Joanna Piotrowska-Woroniak, PhD, is an academic researcher and lecturer at Bialystok University of Technology with extensive experience in renewable energy systems, geothermal technologies, heat pumps, and building energy efficiency. Her research combines numerical simulations, experimental investigations, and practical applications in the fields of energy auditing, sustainable buildings, and thermal engineering. She has participated in numerous research projects related to renewable energy technologies and serves as a reviewer for several high-impact international scientific journals.

Research Interest
    • Renewable energy sources, including solar and geothermal energy.
    • Ground heat exchangers and ground-source heat pump systems.
    • Energy efficiency of buildings and nearly zero-energy buildings (nZEB).
    • Energy auditing and building energy performance assessment.
    • Numerical simulations and experimental research on renewable energy systems.
    • Ecological, energy, and economic evaluation of heat pumps with vertical and horizontal ground heat exchangers, as well as air-source heat pumps.
    • Thermal diffusivity measurements and heat transfer processes.

My research focuses on renewable energy technologies, particularly solar and geothermal energy systems, ground heat exchangers, heat pumps, and building energy efficiency. I conduct numerical simulations and experimental studies concerning the ecological, energy, and economic performance of renewable energy systems. My interests also include energy auditing, nearly zero-energy buildings (nZEB), thermal diffusivity measurements, and heat transfer phenomena.
