Professor of Urban Planning at PUC-Rio and Coordinating Lead Author (CLA) with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). She teaches in the Master’s Programs in Architecture and in Urban and Environmental Engineering, and in the Undergraduate Program in Architecture and Urban Planning. She has served as Director of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning (2015–2018), Coordinator of the Undergraduate Program (2013–2015), leader of the Urban Planning Laboratory (U.Lab), and member of the Interdisciplinary Center for the Environment (NIMA/PUC-Rio).
Within the IPCC, she was CLA of the “Central and South America” chapter in AR6/WGII and currently serves as CLA of the human settlements chapter in AR7/WGII. She is also Co-Director of the Latin American Hub of the Urban Climate Change Research Network (UCCRN-LA). Her research focuses on sustainability, climate governance, urban resilience, equity, and adaptation of cities to climate change.
