Biography

Prof. Dr. Hasan KÖTEN began his education at the Kadıköy Imam Hatip High School in Acıbadem and graduated at the top of his class in 2003. In the university entrance examination he took that same year, he ranked 448th. In 2007, he graduated first in his class from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, while simultaneously earning a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering through a double major program. Prof. Dr. Hasan KÖTEN, who completed his master's and doctoral studies in the field of automotive engineering in 2014, participated in a TÜBİTAK project that featured Turkey's first computer-aided, full-geometry engine design. During his doctoral studies, Prof. Dr. Hasan KÖTEN served as a visiting scholar at The Ohio State University's Center for Automotive Research (CAR); subsequently, from 2016 to 2017, he served as a consultant on the TÜBİTAK Domestic Electric Vehicle Design project. In 2018, he conducted postdoctoral research on tri-fuel engine design at Brunel University in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Hasan KÖTEN has conducted research and delivered presentations in nearly 20 countries, including Saudi Arabia (KAUST), Sweden, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Prof. Dr. Hasan KÖTEN currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Istanbul Medeniyet University and in the Automotive Department at a University of Applied Sciences in Germany. Currently, our professor is leading an ongoing project—funded by the largest TÜBİTAK budget allocated for such an initiative—for the production of 2400HP, 16- and 8-cylinder engines in Turkey.
