Biography

Vladimir Semiglazov, Doctor of Medical Sciences. Russian oncologist, head of the scientific department of tumors of the reproductive system, head of the scientific department - chief researcher of the scientific department of breast tumors of the Federal State Budgetary Center named after N.N. Petrov Research Institute of Oncology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia, professor of the oncology department of the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Excellent Healthcare Worker. Proved the feasibility of using neoadjuvant therapy - preoperative systemic chemo- and/or hormonal and/or targeted therapy that reduces the size of the tumor, removes metastases and, thus, converts inoperable forms of cancer into operable ones. V. Semiglazov created a school of oncologists. Under his leadership, 25 doctors of medical sciences and 56 candidates of medical sciences were trained, working in the Russian Federation and abroad. He is the author of more than 400 scientific works, including more than 14 books: monographs and teaching aids.
