Francesca Russo holds a fellowship at CNR-ITM (Rende, CS) in the preparation and characterization of membranes. Her Ph.D. in “Science and Engineering of the Environment, Constructions, and Energy” was an inter-disciplinary collaboration with the CNR-ITM and the University of Calabria. She studied the development of sustainable polymeric membranes. She recently received a scholarship from NAWA, National Agency for Academic Exchange in Poland. She is currently a member of the European Membrane Society (EMS) and guest editor for the Polymers Journal for the Special Issue "Emergent Materials for Membrane Preparation: from Circular Economy to Environmental Sustainability".
Her research interests are mainly in the fields of sustainable membrane preparation and characterization using innovative polymeric materials for water treatment and gas separation applications.
